Band Camp Marches Off Into the Distance!
The last two weeks the band members and staff of the Wildcat Entertainment Corps have been hard at work preparing for the 2017 season. We had many successes during our camp this year, and we are very excited about the upcoming season. The show music is sounding amazing, our freshmen have been properly trained and welcomed into our band family. Now all that is left is to begin learning the drill for the field and making our show come to life! This season has the potential to be one of our best, and we can't wait to see you out there supporting the students and cheering us on!

Your Help is Needed!
Our program has experienced great success over the last several years. Our groups have grown in both size and quality. Part of this is because of the dedicated instruction that our students receive from our knowledgable staff. However, much of our success is achieved behind the scenes.
The Wildcat Entertainment Corps has a very dedicated group of parents and family members who donate their time to our students. They take care of everything from fundraising, building props, transporting our equipment to all of our competitions, fitting our students with their band uniforms, running a snack shack at our home football games, and much, much more! It is safe to say that without this great support system that we have, much of what we have accomplished would not have been possible.
It is now a new year, many of our current band booster leaders have either graduated out of the program, or are now senior parents and will be leaving us at the end of this year. We cannot afford to have a lack of support from our band booster organization. Their role in the success of our students is crucial. That is why we are in need of our new families, and maybe some of our returning families who were a bit shy last year, to step up and get involved. It is time to start training to fill some of the positions that we so desperately need for our band to continue to thrive!
No one has to have experience to get started, and no one has to do anything alone. We want you to get involved earlier in the year so you can shadow someone, pitch in at some events, and just get your feet wet so you can see it's not as scary, or in some instances as time consuming, as you thought it would be. At the end of the day, the success of our program is directly correlated to the success of our booster group. That's why we need your help!
If you are even remotely interested in doing something for our program, big or small, please reach out to Mr. Bartell and he can point you in the right direction. You can even talk to our current band booster members/leaders and ask them any questions you might have. They are very friendly people and will make you feel safe and confident in any task.
We really do hope to see an increase in volunteerism this year, as without it, you will begin to see the decline of our amazing program. No one wants to see that happen, so please join our team!
Don't Forget, we are now on Instagram!!
In an effort to reach out into our community, both literally and technologically, the Instrumental Music and Color Guard program launched their own Instagram page last November.
If you are on Instagram search for Wildcat Entertainment Corps and please give us a follow! We will be sharing pictures from all of our various performance ensembles, accomplishments of our groups and students, as well as some lighthearted pictures from when we're just hanging out and having some fun.
If you have your own Instagram account and would like to tag us in your band pictures, please do! We are also asking our band families to use the hashtags #bousdmusic, #wearebousd, and #wildcatentertainmentcorps. This will help us to spread our virtual audience and establish a much broader and prevalent digital paw print in our community!
Help Support Our Program and Kids!!
Our students work very hard to compete and be as successful as they can be. Unfortunately, that does come with a price tag attached. Our dedicated band boosters provide so much for our students to help them succeed, but they cannot raise it all on their own and we need your help by contributing funds to our program. Most contributions are considered tax deductible, too!
Follow this link to donate to our program, enter the requested information into our secure credit card processing terminal, and print your receipt. For current band families, you can also contribute to our program through your Charms accounts.
We thank you for anything you can provide towards helping our students to have the type of program they have come to know and deserve!
