Yearbook Wins All Kansas Rating

The yearbook staff received an All Kansas rating for the 2022 yearbook. It was a back to back win from the Kansas Scholastic Press Association, which ranks the best yearbooks in the state.

Congratulations to the 2022 editors Kaylyn Sharp and Trista Davis as well as the other staff members who worked many hours and late nights to complete the book.

The best part is many of last year’s staff are still here working on the new yearbook, and it’s looking better than last year’s. Kaylyn Sharp and Alyssa Hannigan are the editors this year.

Topeka Metro Offers New Service

The Topeka Metropolitan Transit Authority announces plans to launch a microtransit service for the southeast part of Topeka, starting in January 2023. The on-demand service, named MOD (Metro On-Demand), will allow customers to request curb-to-curb transportation within specific service areas. In addition, passengers will be able to request rides that would arrive within 15 minutes, which is similar to ride share services.

“As we continue to look for new ways to improve, we believe the more personalized nature of microtransit will be a great addition to our service," said Bob Nugent, Topeka Metro general manager. "Microtransit has been around for a while and has proven to be a more expedient and cost-effective way for folks to travel to where they need to go."

Passengers can access residential and commercial locations, or even connect with a fixed route bus for travel outside the defined zones. Hours of MOD operation will be Monday through Friday from 5:35 a.m. to 6:40 p.m., and Saturday from 8:15 a.m. to 6:40 p.m. Fees for this shared ride program will be $2 for a one-way ride. Reduced Fare and youth pricing options are available.

Topeka Metro will host a series of public meetings beginning November 30th into December 2022 to explain how MOD will operate and to answer questions. Please click on the link to access the public meeting notice in English. A Spanish version is available here.

A flyer explaining the service in English and Spanish can be found at this link.

Senior Information

Seniors, it's time to start thinking about getting your picture ready for the yearbook. We need portraits of all seniors for the yearbook by the end of the first semester, December 16.

Guidelines for a great yearbook photo: face forward, midbody or closer (no feet!), avoid hats or props like balls, cars, or the family dog. Keep the backgrounds simple and uncluttered.

Use a photographer of your choice. Family or friends can take the photo, but no bathroom or car selfies. If you do not have a photo to submit, we will use your school photo.

To submit a photo

  • Go to
  • Type in Topeka High & click on our school name when it pops up
  • At the top of the page you'll see "Yearbook Snap" to upload photos
  • Use this code "Trojan_photos"
  • Follow the prompts

Parents, consider purchasing a senior salute ad for the yearbook. This is a great way to recognize your senior and celebrate all of their milestones with photos and a special personal message.

We offer five different sizes and prices of senior ads from a full page with 10 or 12 photos and message, to a single photo and shoutout message. Prices range from $200 to $30.

If you order a senior ad, you will also get a $5 discount on your yearbook. Type "seniorad" in the coupon code on the yearbook order on the online store. This coupon is only in conjunction with senior ad purchases.
