Good, Better, Best; Never Let it Rest Until Our Good is Better and our Better is BEST!
Principal's Update
Hello Panther families,
Our Panthers have been working hard these first few weeks of school. I've been able to "zoom" with each class and love seeing students ready to learn and participating in each lesson.
If you were unable to join me for the live Zoom webinar as part of Back To School Night, you can access the slidedeck here.
Last night the NMUSD Board of Education approved the proposal for Level 2 with an anticipated start date of September 29 for TK-2nd and October 1 for 3rd-6th. This model of on-campus learning will be an AM/PM Hybrid with students on campus for a few hours in small cohorts and at home continuing with asynchronous learning.
All Special Day Class students will start September 29 full day with Wednesday as a half day.
There are many details to be put in place to ensure a safe return to campus. As soon as I have more information to share I will send communication.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Sincererly,
Mrs. Schwartz

Distance Learning Expectations

- Limit distractions
- Be engaged in your learning
- Attendance is mandatory
Distance Learning Schedules
Each teacher will provide a more detailed weekly schedule for Distance Learning, but all students will follow the schedules outlined below.
Important Factors Regarding Schedules:
All classes begin at 8:00am with a morning meeting.
Attendance will be taken during the morning meeting and core instruction blocks.
Core Instruction will be taught in two blocks focusing on English Language Arts (ELA) and Math.
Teachers have flexibility within those Core Blocks to schedule LIVE Synchronous and/or Asynchronous (Independent) Instruction. Decisions will be age appropriate and based on the needs of the class, as determined by the teacher's professional judgement.
Teachers will establish a schedule for the Small Group Zoom sessions.
Teachers will also communicate expectations for the Independent Work Time.
The schedule was designed to help ease the transition when we return to campus.
There might be some bumps along the way as we work through our Distance Learning Schedules. We understand and we are committed to practicing grace, patience, and flexibility as we all work through this together. We are counting on our families to do the same.
