A Message from the Principal

5.3.22

Dear Holy Family Catholic School Community,

I am looking forward to celebrating our awesome volunteers tomorrow night, Wednesday, May 4th, for our Mix and Mingle in the Pemberton Library starting at 6:30pm. Thank you for all that you do to support HFCS, we appreciate you!

I also want to thank the school community for the thoughtful cards and flowers I received for Principal’s Day! I love our school and am honored to be here with you.

Last week’s 8th grade Diocesan Vocation Day started with a beautiful Mass celebrated by Father Wallis at St. Patricks’ Cathedral, followed by lunch and vocations talks for our 8th grade students throughout the Diocese. I was proud of our 8th graders who demonstrated dignity and respect throughout the day and was also amazed by Sr. Immaculata’s presentation!

May Crowning will be held this Thursday, May 5th, and will be live streamed. Please see Sr. Immaculata’s letter regarding May Crowning below.

The Diocese has selected Holy Family as one of the schools to beta test the CLT (Classical Learning Test), a national standardized assessment, with our 8th grade students, and the ARK (Assessment of Religious Knowledge), with our 5th and 8th grade students, who typically take the annual ACRE tests. The 8th graders will take the CLT tomorrow morning, and the ARK next Tuesday during Religion. The 5th graders will take the ARC test on Friday, May 5th.

The end of the school year is almost upon us! I am grateful to all of our parents, students, and teachers for the near completion of another successful school year.

Thank you and God bless,

Ann Walters

Principal

May Crowning

Dear Parents,

May the joy and blessing of our Risen Lord be with you.

During the month of May, we honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in a very special way. We attributed the queen symbol to Mary because she was a perfect disciple of Christ, who is the absolute Crown of Creation. All of us are called to imitate her to become faithful and joyful disciples of Christ.

This week on Thursday, May 5, 2022, our school will have a May Crowning before Mass at 8:15am. The students will pay special tribute to our Mother by presenting her with fresh flowers that symbolize our love for her. I would like to ask each student to bring a few flowers to present to our Blessed Mother.

The ceremony will be live-streamed on the school Facebook page. Go to the school website at www.hfcsfw.org and click on the f in the top right-hand corner.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely in Christ,

Sr. Immaculata Therese Nguyen, OP

Arts Google Show

The image of the weaving is from Arts Goggle, which our very own art teacher, Mrs. Sara Hiett, participated in recently. The community and several of our students came through the festival and added a piece of material to help complete the piece. It is now on display at “One Safe Place” which is a Fort Worth non-profit that is a comprehensive crime prevention agency devoted to preventing crime and violence in Tarrant County's neighborhoods, schools and homes.
