Central Ohio First Tee Live Zoom and Recorded Sessions
Mr. Cory Tucker, Program Director, Central Ohio First Tee will be providing live zoom sessions 12:00-12:45pm every Wednesday, (see below dates/times). Cory will also send out a golf skill portion once a week for those nine weeks satisfying the active portion of the unit. The podcast will be different for every episode but there will be 3 things that will never change. First Tee will always have the life skills (core value), speaking with a representative from CCS, and discussing the test that would be provided at the end of the nine week session. For those who are interested but can not make that time, First Tee will provide the recording of each session so that you can implement at your own discretion.
You are invited to a Zoom webinar.

ES PE Columbus Blue Jackets Survey
Thank you for your patience while we all navigate through the current uncertainty involving our programs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
While this school year is unlike any other that we have experienced before we know that it is important to provide this resource to you and our 47,000 students that participate across 8 Central Ohio school districts. With such a wide array of scenarios and attendance plans being carried out across each district it’s hard for us to have one program that fits everyone’s individual needs. We are anticipating to resume Power Play Challenge in January 2021.
Before we can resume the program I need to know the needs of you the teacher. Please complete this brief survey to help me better understand your needs as it relates to how your district and school are implementing programs and physical education during this time.
As always if you need anything please feel free to reach out to me directly.

PE Evaluations for the 2020-2021 School Year
Q. What grade levels will be assessed in 2020-2021?
A. 2nd grade, 5th grade, 6th grade and PE II. You may or may not know, MS is now offering PE II in the 8th grade in the 2nd semester only. Students are required to receive a letter grade of a "C" or higher in PE I to be eligible for PE II in the 2nd semester of the 8th grade.
Q. Are physical education assessments required to be completed for the 2020-2021 school year?
A. Yes. Physical education assessments are governed locally. Therefore, school districts should determine how physical education assessments will be managed for the 2020-2021 school year. Same as the previous year.
Q. Are physical education benchmark evaluations required to be reported to Educational Management Information System (EMIS) for the 2020-2021 school year?
A. Yes. Physical education benchmark evaluations, school and district data still should be submitted to EMIS for the 2020-2021 school year. Physical education data is a report-only item on the Ohio School Report Cards and does not factor into report card ratings. Submitting all available data is required. Districts may include any partially evaluated or non-evaluated students in the “evaluation not conducted at this grade band for the building” field rather than including them in the limited, proficient or advanced count. For example, if a student was not evaluated on all of the standards during the 2020-2021 school year, that student would not be included in the limited, proficient or advanced count and rather included in the “evaluation not conducted at this grade band for the building.”
This is the same process that was in place when schools were ordered to close in March of 2020, per the ODE PE Department.
Due date to submit data to Dr. Don Cain, May 21, 2021, @ dcain7245@columbus.k12.oh.us
