REMINDERS FOR PARENTS
SAVE THE DATE - Wednesday November 20th
In celebration of National School Lunch Week, Grade one parents and guardians are invited to join their child for lunch. An invitation and lunch order form will go home with grade 1 students on November 4th.
- Students may only ride their assigned buses.
- Students must get off at their assigned bus stop.
- Parents may not ask the bus driver to adjust their child’s bus stop.
- Please do not give your child alternate dismissal instructions, unless the school has been notified in writing and your request has been approved.
- Requests to change a student’s permanent bus assignment may be approved by the Principal, or designee, if the request is received in writing a minimum of five days in advance.
- Once a permanent bus change has been approved, students may not switch back to their home bus on days that they are scheduled to go elsewhere.
- Students must be picked up in the car line if they are not taking their assigned bus.
- If there is a family emergency, or medical situation, parents should notify the school Principal and other transportation arrangements may be made.
A complete copy of the Transportation Policy is accessible on the district website.
STUDENT INFORMATION UPDATE
The Marshfield Public Schools will now be using workflows in the Aspen Family portal to complete the "back to school" emergency contact forms that have traditionally been done on paper. Parents/guardians will need to use their Family accounts (not Student accounts) to complete the "Student Information Update" workflow for each student, and the "Parent Information Update" workflow for themselves.
Instructions for completing the information update workflows can be found here: https://bit.ly/2NGfedW
If you are unable to log in, please contact aspen@mpsd.org or call GWS (781) 834-5060.
FROM THE PTO
Thank you again to everyone who volunteered, donated and participated in Jog-A-Thon. It was a huge success for Governor Winslow bringing in $12,000.
With all of your time and energy spent last year, on our many fundraisers, we were able to give back $19, 571 to Governor Winslow. The school will use this money to fund many exciting projects that benefit all of our children. Thank you again!
The Marshfield Holiday Light show is coming to the fairgrounds. The Marshfield Holiday Light Show is the only drive-through light show in Eastern Mass! Featuring dozens of dazzling displays to delight the entire family! The show is open select dates beginning November 22, 2019, through the end of December! Our October Fundraising goal is to sell 25 tickets! If we hit this goal by the end of the month, one lucky ticket holder will get their ticket refunded- a free ticket! We're truly looking forward to this event, it's the first event of its kind to come to the South Shore! Click here to buy your tickets.
Winterfest will be here before we know it! It will be held on January 10th. That being said, we need your help! We will be forming grade level committees to help in the before, during and after work involved in creating a successful event. If you are interested in helping out, please meet us at Mama Mia's on Wednesday, November 20th at 7:00pm.
IN OUR COMMUNITY
COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS

Marshfield Residents will need to go to the Community Christmas location at the Marshfield Fairground and sign up in person.
A license and proof of residency (tax bill, utility bill etc..) will be required at that time.
Community Christmas will be open November 12th.
EARN MONEY FOR GWS AS YOU CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSETS!
Put your unwanted items to good use by dropping them in our textiles recycling bin, located in our parking lot near the trash dumpsters. Ninety-five percent of all textiles can be recycled.
The following can be donated as long as they are clean & dry: clothing, shoes, pocketbooks, table linens, bed linens, draperies, throw rugs, and stuffed animals. Please place your items in plastic bags so that they will stay dry.
GWS will earn $100 for every ton of textiles placed in our recycling bin.
