SPEECH NEWS
2018-2019
What's New
How is it second semester already? I have enjoyed working with the students this year! They are all making good progress on their speech and language skills. You all should have received a progress note from me at the beginning of January. If not, please call or email me and I will get that information to you. As a reminder, if you child is on an IEP, you will receive a progress note every nine weeks and if your child is in the speech improvement program (SIP), you will receive a progress note at each semester. As always, please call or email with any questions regarding progress or programs.
I have been getting into classrooms more this month and have presented the Expanding Expression Tool (EET) to a few first grade classrooms. I can't wait to see the students progress in writing. I have attached a parent handout to the bottom of this SMORE for you to use at home if interested. As always, please call or email with any questions.
E-Learning
If we have an E-learning day. Please remind your child to use their best speech and language skills while doing the activity you pick provided by your classroom teacher. You could also use one of the activities provided on this SMORE, however, you do NOT have to turn in your completed activity to me. Please contact me via email at ccarey@hse.k12.in.us with eLearning questions. Office hours on the snow day will be from 9am-12pm.

Listed below are a few activities and word list you can use if you would like more practice at home. This is all optional, you do NOT have to return it to school. If you would like more specific worksheets or have any questions, please call or email me. Enjoy and have FUN with the activities!
