Plano Middle School Weekly Update
Monday, February 1st -- Friday, February 5th
Plano Middle School Families,
On Friday, January 29th Plano MS hosted the annual Spelling Bee. I want to congratulate all of the students who made it through to this final round of competition:
Gracie Busboom
Sadie Brumbaugh
Isabel Tannenbaum
Melanie Tapia
Tyler Burris
Jalyn Christian
Dylan Saunders
Aliyah Reyna
Skylar Riley
Brody Simmons
Miram Garcia
I have the utmost respect for all of these students. It is not easy to stand up there in front of people and focus in on spelling words. In addition, they all put in teh extra time to study and prepare for the Spelling Bee. Special thanks to Mrs. Michelle Long for organizing the Spelling Bee, running practice sessions, and preparing the students. The winner of the school Spelling Bee will move on to represent Plano Middle School at the Kendall / Grundy Counties Regional Spelling Bee. The winner of the Regional Bee will move on to participate in the National Scripps Spelling Bee.
After many rounds of back and forth between the final competitors, Aliyah Reyna was the winner of our school Spelling Bee! We all wish her the best of luck at the Regional Spelling Bee. Congratulations Aliyah!!
Emergency Weather Plan
Please note that the unpredictable cold snowy Illinois weather of January and February is still ahead of us. If weather were to close us down for in-person learning, we will still plan to hold school remotely following the same schedule we do now. There will be no "Snow Day" as we have always experienced in years past. A "Snow Day" will now be an E-Learning Day with classes starting at 8 am.
