Please click the link to select the clubs you would like to join. Descriptions of each club is outlined below. These clubs are designed for parents to be involved in our classrooms and to support our school.

Conscious Discipline Club
Spend time learning about the Conscious Discipline strategies and visiting with other parents. This club will meet to do study times, possible book clubs, parent education and conversations surrounding the ideas of Conscious Discipline.
Birthday Club
Parents who are available monthly to plan and prepare for the children who have birthdays that month. Small gifts, cooking experiences or celebrations planning may be included in the ideas of the group. The Leet Center Birthday club could plan to be available for a monthly planning meeting with children and the director. Parents would have the opportunity to join our students in their birthday club meetings and daily celebrations as they make their snack and prepare an activity. You could play a part in this in all aspects or even by helping to design documentation boards, snack cookbooks or creating calendars.
Gardening Club
In this club you could help with our one large spring clean up day and a fall planting and clean up day, tending to the outdoor classroom gardens as needed, preparing planting experiences for children, or weeding schedules for classes. We are looking for people who enjoy being outdoors and caring for plants.
Building Club
Helping to complete projects in classrooms that may involve tools or skills with light construction. Fixing issues that may need attention or items in classrooms that may break. Brainstorming building needs such as classroom hooks for bags, keeping student’s backpacks safe from young children, etc.
Leeter Eaters
Cooking club- Looking for parents who could share their love of cooking and trying culinary delights with small groups of children.
Sewing Club
People willing to come into the classrooms to sew with children, make items for the classroom and generally share their skill with children. This would include a sewing machine and also other skills like knitting, cross stitch, or other crafting with fabric.
Fishing Club
People willing to fish with the children in Colden Pond, someone who has the skill and passion for sharing experiences with children around fishing. Would need to be free to come into school sometime before 3 on occasions to fish with children.
JOY (Joining Older and Youngers- nursing home) club- This club is currently only available for Leet Center Parents.
Someone to serve on the committee to schedule visits to Oak Pointe, have Oak Pointe members to the school and make plans with teachers and children to keep the “pen pal” type relationships with residents going during inclement weather and flu season.
Vines and Branches
People who would be interested in creating and sustaining an organized program to connect new families to Horace Mann and Leet to families who have been in the organization longer in hopes of establishing a communication and information line about what is helpful to know in the lab school environment.
Back to School Picnic
Helpers to make decisions about effectively having time for speaking with teachers, the menu, pot luck needs, outreach to families, development of new practices, reflection on what is or isn’t working for us and the center and school.
Popcorn Fridays-
Assist on Fridays to make popcorn and fill classroom orders, inventory supplies, and coordinate the purchase of needed supplies with the PAC treasurer. Availability needed on Fridays from 7:30-9:30am.
STEMathon - There are many roles to fill. By signing up for STEMathon, you will only participate in the activities you wish.
- Assist in preparing the flyers and sponsor letters to be mailed out.
- Work with the Principal to recruit volunteers, plan activities, and market the event. Monthly planning meetings could occur in early January, February, and March.
- Facilitate planned activities for the STEMathon event or assist with a student group for rotations.
Playdough Club
Parents can sign up to make playdough once per month to make seasonal playdough. An additional opportunity would be to purchase the materials for other volunteers to use to make the playdough. Recipes can be provided.
Homecoming
Organizing information about walking in the parade, coordinate candy drive for parade walkers to throw during the parade, possible float ideas to increase the visibility of our school in the community or other ideas.
Dr. Seuss Week Readers
Volunteer to read to classrooms during Read Across America Week which occurs during Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2nd.
Teacher Appreciation Meals
- Contribute to meals 3-4 times per year to offer a meal to teachers staying late for parent/teacher conferences and during teacher appreciation week. Having 1-2 people coordinate the menu and drop off times for food would be appreciated.
- Teacher Appreciation Week occurs in early May. This year it is May 4-8th. Volunteers would coordinate appreciation activities or ideas for the week.
Reading Buddy club
Come in once a month or so and have children read to them or read with the children. This could be a parent, grandparent, special friend, or older sibling.
Random Acts of Kindness Week
Work with students to create notes to leave around our school and campus. This could involve helping to plan and facilitate kindness projects.
Relief (or Acts of Service) Club
Support students in identifying areas of needed relief from hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, etc. Write letters and collect items needed for humanitarian relief. This could also align with classroom service projects or community projects.
Veteran's Day Club
Help in planning for student education about Veteran's Day. This could include helping children with organizing an event to honor veterans.
