Principal's Message

Dear Henry Families,


We know there are many questions regarding graduation, student item retrieval and grades. Please be sure to read the information below that will help clarify any questions.


Report cards will be generated and mailed to homes next week. Students have until Monday, June 15th (for PreK-7th) to complete all assignments. 8th graders have until Sunday, June 14th. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions.


Have a safe week and remember, "Everything is Possible, Nothing is Unimaginable".

Class of 2020 Graduation Plan

Cap/Gown Pick Up AND Chromebook Return: 8th Grade

All graduates are asked to return their chromebook/charger to Henry school starting Tuesday, June 9th through Friday, June 12th. They will receive their cap/gown, diploma, and ribbon once their technology is returned. Graduation photos will also be handed out at this time.

Virtual Graduation Ceremony

Pre-recorded ceremony will be posted to the Henry Middle School Youtube channel on June 15th at 9am. Link forthcoming.

Drive-thru Graduation

On Monday, June 15th, Graduates and immediate family members are invited to drive to Henry and line up on Cullom avenue (west of drive way) to receive their diploma cover and take a picture with their cap and gown on. Time to arrive depends on their last name:

-A-G at 9:30am

- H-N at 10:15am

- O-R at 11:00am

- S-Z at 11:45am

Item Retrieval and Chromebooks

Student Item Retrieval

Families can pick up their child's items that are at the school starting Wednesday, June 10th through Friday June 11th between the hours of 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Please ring the bell at the main entrance on St. Louis.

Returning Chromebooks (Graduates and Transferring Students)

8th grade students and those students who will be transferring will need to return chromebooks. Students who will be attending Henry for the 2020-2021 school year will not need to return their Chromebooks until the next school year.

Please see the flyer below from the Office of Early Childhood about the Pre-K Enrollment process in CPS. As a reminder, all Pre-K enrollment is handled by the Office of Early Childhood. Henry School does not have a say in who is admitted to our Pre-K program. That being said, we are happy to answer questions and provide support as much as we are able.

K-8th Grade Enrollment

Patrick Henry Elementary school is a proud neighborhood school focused on personalized learning. All students living within the Henry Attendance Boundary Area can enroll at any time during the school year. (See neighborhood boundary area above.) Students who live outside of Henry's Attendance Boundary Area, please visit go.cps.edu for application process.


We encourage all incoming kindergarteners and new transfers to register starting Tuesday, June 16th. The Henry Main Office will be open between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm Monday through Friday during the summer.


Please stop by at the school to pick up a registration packet or visit our Henry website at patrickhenryes.cps.edu to download the registration packet located on the home page.

REMINDERS

Henry Office Hours

Office Hours: 773-534-5060 (Spanish and English Available) We will have a staff member available by phone Monday through Friday during the hours of 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Students or parents can call the school number to ask any questions they have for the school staff.

Food Distribution

Henry School will continue being a food distribution site for our community.
