Celebrating a Park Student
Cora Head, Park second grade student, appeared in the bright lights of Broadway on Saturday,
September 12, as part of the National Down Syndrome Society's annual Times Square Video presentation. The featured photographs highlight children, teens, and adults with Down syndrome, reminding the world in a very big way about the contributions and milestones of people with Down syndrome. The images promote the value, acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. We are so proud of Cora for being selected from thousands of photo entries. What a big honor!

Notes from Music
Welcome to a new and different year of music at Park Elementary. Recently we are focusing on how we can SOAR (Be Safe, Own It, Act Responsibly, Be Respectful) while acting kindly to others in and around our music making. All Park students have been invited to their Park Music 20-21 Google Classroom. We will utilize this as a resource for home learning/practice this year. Along with using our music room, many music classes are able to take place in an outside space. 4th graders have ordered their recorders and 5th graders have ordered ukuleles (optional home purchase). These instruments will be arriving at school in the next two or three weeks. At Park all 5th grade students who did not purchase a recorder/ukulele will have the opportunity to have a loaner ukulele at home this year. We thank Home Depot for recently donating 30 5-gallon buckets and 60 PVC sticks for bucket drumming. Thank you to our Park Parent Club, Music to Benefit Music fundraiser, the Hudsonville Education Foundation and to all of our Park families for their continuous support of music at Park Elementary!
SOARing at Park
be Safe,
Own It,
Act Responsibly, and
be Respectful
or SOAR.
Be Safe has been of the utmost importance as we navigate face-to-face learning this fall. Park staff and students have embraced our SOAR values and spent additional time learning new routines related to masking, handwashing, and social distancing. Social-emotional wellness is another important aspect of encouraging positive behavior and providing the necessary support to help each student continue to learn and grow. We look forward to partnering with you this year to do this important work.
Lunch
Hot Lunch is available everyday to all students FREE of charge. Menu's, Free and Reduced Information, nutrition information can all be found on the Jenison/Hudsonville Food Service Home page.
Medications
Please do not send medications to school with your child. Come into the office to drop off medications. Thank you!
