To Do List - December
All Students
- I met with the majority of students individually on Teams before Thanksgiving break. Make sure to follow-up with me if there is anything you need or would like to discuss. I would like to have a conversation with those who were not able to attend over the next few day before we head to Winter break. Send me a message to make an appointment!
- Turning 18? Be sure to register to vote and/or with the Selective Service (if biologically male). You should also get a state issued ID before 18 years of age if you do not have a driver's license.
- The semester ends January 20th. If you are taking a semester class, remember you need to average a 70% or above in order to earn credit. This is especially critical in your senior year when you are looking to graduate in a few months!

Pre-Apprenticeship Program!
The Penn College Advanced Manufacturing Pre-apprenticeship (AMP) Program offers high school students the ideal preparation for jobs in manufacturing, industrial technology, and engineering. Penn College will offer the AMP program for high school students (juniors and seniors) starting in late January 2021.
The AMP program provides students with the foundational background in manufacturing knowledge and skills key to sustainable wage, in-demand jobs in manufacturing industries such a pharmaceutical product, health protection products and hospital equipment.
With nearly 90% of the AMP curriculum delivered via online learning, students do not need to leave their home schools to participate. Further, PCT has redesigned their hands-on lab sessions to keep current with CDC health and safety guidance:
- 60-70 hours online learning
- 3 hands-on lab sessions at Penn College
- Orientation and assessment sessions conducted virtually
- Industry Day career fair conducted virtually
AMP is aligned to the nationally-recognized Manufacturing Technician (level 1) certification from the Manufacturing Skills Institute. This industry credential is evidence to an employer of the preparation that the pre-apprentices earn through the program.
The evolving economy has revealed that there will be plenty of technical jobs in manufacturing once the pandemic eases. Now is the time for high school students to explore a career option that will provide them with the technical knowledge and skills to succeed in advanced manufacturing.
Contact Mrs. Wagner to discuss how to enroll.
