Innovative Teaching Community
a focus group event
The idea of iTeach (Innovative Teaching Community)
The core of iTeach is community and innovation. It's a community of learners gathered around common goals:
We’re seeking teachers who are amazed at the great teaching they see around them, and find inspiration in watching others grow…
We’re seeking teachers with a “glass half-full” mentality, but also wonder at times - “what if the glass were a different size?” - a community of learners who ask “what if?” instead of “why not?”…
This might sound a little crazy. And we’ll admit, maybe it is. But maybe a little crazy is alright? Maybe, sometimes we need to be at least a little crazy.
Of course, the iTeach isn’t really crazy. We just like thinking about the possibilities of education without limitations. We know that real world teaching has limitations. But we believe that thinking about a world of possibilities can help transform our real world teaching.
What would it be like to be a part of a community that nurtured the world of possibilities?
Why a focus group?
How long will iTeach meet?
How often?
What topics will we pursue?
What will be the most effective use of our time in pursuing the goals of iTeach?
We need your input to answer the questions above.

What is the Innovative Teaching Community?
iTeach will be a networked group of educators designed around the idea of a Professional Learning Community for educators from multiple districts in Kent County.
iTeach will begin meeting in the 2014/2015 school year. Meeting dates, times, and locations will be determined by the iTeach community.
The iTeach community will be organized around the autonomy and ownership of the group. The goals of iTeach will be defined by the group.
