BMJH Library News You Can Use

Spring 2016

Book Fair!

Thanks again for supporting our Fall Scholastic Book Fair! Because of the profit made, the BMJH library added approximately 50 books to its collection. The next book fair is scheduled for May 16-20 and will be a BOGO sale! Woohoo!

Here is a sample of the books the kids have been looking forward to getting in the library! And you can check them out too!

Online Magazines!

While we don't have physical magazines in the library, we do have many online! We have popular titles like Scope by Scholastic, Popular Science, Texas Monthly, Sports Illustrated and more! The most recent magazines are there as well as back issues. To see all titles, log on to our Destiny homepage and click on either Gale or Ebsco online magazines.( Having trouble? Email me:

Recent Events in the library!

To inspire students in writing, the 7th grade English department hosted several writers, both in person and via skype in the library! Monica Rhor (pictured above) is a narrative writer and investigative reporter with The Houston Chronicle who shared many fascinating events she has covered, including The Lost Boys of Sudan. Kudos to Mrs. Gage for helping put this event together!

Pictured below are our wonderful students who joined the Circle of Champions (for the 3rd six weeks). I love hosting this event in the library!

The library was used by Mr. Mulvaney's 3rd period class to film a commercial for Reese's Pieces. Good Job!
