Introducing our new School Psychologist, Ms. Theresa Flinn

Below is a message from our new School Psychologist. We are excited to welcome her as part of our Boger family.

Hi Boger Beacons!

I am excited to introduce myself as the school psychologist serving Charles E. Boger Elementary and Northwest Cabarrus Middle for the 2020-2021 school year. This is my second year practicing as a school psychologist, and my first year in Cabarrus County Schools. I completed my education in my home state of New York before spending my first year of practice near my husband's military base in Jacksonville, FL. As your school psychologist, my goal is to make sure that all students are receiving what they need to grow academically, emotionally, and socially. I'm looking forward to supporting all my students, families, and staff this school year!

Social Emotional weekly Lessons

Every week the student support services team will be presenting a Social Emotional lesson to students during restorative circle time. These lessons can also be found on the Counselor's canvas page to be viewed later. There will be a different topic each week. Here are the topics for each week:

August 24th-28th-mindfulness

August 31st-goal setting

September 7th-Resiliency

September 14th-Self-care

September 21st-Self-Awareness

September 28th-Perspective Taking

This week students learned about setting goals. Setting goals is important in school and in life. Students shared some of their goals during restorative circle time. We encourage you to share with your child your personal goals and the importance of always reaching for a goal!
