Dear Parents,
Believe in the power of “Yet”
If a child possesses a growth mindset, they can look at classroom tasks with a “go-getter” attitude and are able to bounce back from challenges with an optimistic point of view. Encourage your child to not give up when things get hard and tell them that if they can’t do something now, it just means they can’t do it Yet!
9 WAYS OF TEACHING GROWTH MINDSET
1. PROVIDE ATTAINABLE CHALLENGES.
2. GIVE OPPORTUNITIES TO FACE OBSTACLES.
3. TEACH AND MODEL GOOD ATTITUDES.
4. TEACH HOW TO ACCEPT CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM.
5. VIEW FAILURE AS LEARNING.
6. PROVIDE GROUP LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES.
Let’s all work together to foster a growth mindset.
Sincerely,
Ms Gutierrez, Principal
Estimados Padres/Guardianes,
1. PROPORCIONAR DESAFÍOS ACERTABLES.
2. DAR OPORTUNIDADES PARA ENFRENTAR OBSTÁCULOS.
3. ENSEÑAR Y MODELAR BUENAS ACTITUDES.
4. ENSEÑE A CÓMO ACEPTAR LA CRÍTICA CONSTRUCTIVA.
5. VER EL FALLO COMO APRENDIZAJE.
6. PROVEER OPORTUNIDADES DE APRENDIZAJE EN GRUPO.
Trabajemos todos juntos para fomentar una mentalidad de crecimiento.
Sinceramente,
Ms Gutierrez, Directora

Malabar Digital Citizenship
At Malabar, we want students to connect, explore, and learn in new and exciting ways but the internet can be a place with risks if it is used incorrectly. Always remember that nothing posted online is PRIVATE. Everything typed into a Zoom chat is visible and can be saved by the Zoom host. The Zoom host can print the chat and know exactly who contributed to the discussion. Our words are permanent and have a lasting effect. Please remember to always be safe, respectful, and responsible digital citizens in all that you do online.
