Student Involvement at Utt
Wow! This first quarter we've had an abundance of extra-currricular activities for our students. During this time, students had the opportunity to participate in the following activities: Cross Country, Dino Dash, October Dance, Robotics Team, AVID Fieldtrip to CSUF, PTO Movie Night, ACA Lunchtime Activities, Lunchtime Dodgeball Tournaments, Band Performance at Tustin High Football Game, and the Cardboard Arcade. Feeling connected to school puts students in a position of success, as they are able to develop stronger relationships with peers, teachers, and administrators. They are more likely to complete classwork and homework and more likely to seek out help when they need it. This December, we have another opportunity for your students to get involved at Utt through our after-school basketball program. Players of all levels are welcome to participate in this recreational league. They will compete in basketball festivals with TUSD schools, and all students get to play. It is a guaranteed good time!

Student Recognition
ACA Bracelets: Every month, teachers recognize three students from each class they teach for demonstrating our Core Values of Attitude, Commitment and Achievement with an ACA bracelet. There is a bracelet for each category. When students earn all three they are able to earn a large ACA bracelet. Students wear these with pride and they are able to participate in special lunchtime activities, as well as receive unannounced rewards from our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Glembocki. Each month, the Utt staff recognizes over 180 students with ACA Bracelets.
Falcon Flyer Luncheon
Near the end of each quarter, every teacher nominates one student as their Falcon Flyer Luncheon recipient. For this recognition, parents and students are invited to have lunch with their nominating teacher. We always hear positive comments from parents regarding this event. This is a very prestigious award, as teachers are only able to recognize four students for the entire year!
Honor Roll Assemblies
At the conclusion of the first and second semester, we hold a special Honor Roll Recognition Assembly for Honor Roll Students. Students and their parents are invited to attend this ceremony. As we are still early in the 2nd quarter, this is a perfect time to encourage your students to achieve this distinguished goal. Here is the criteria for Honor Roll:
Honor Roll: 3.5 - 3.9 grade point average
Principal's Honor Roll - 4.0 grade point average
