Water Walk
Sunday, April 21st, 2013 from 12pm to 4pm
The first Earth Day was on April 22, 1970; this day activated 20 million Americans from all walks of life and was widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement. The passage of the landmark Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act and many other groundbreaking environmental laws soon followed.
Youth Action Hudson will be hosting a FREE family-friendly 5k Water Awareness Walk at Camp St. Croix as part of their Earth Day Celebration. During the Water Walk participants will complete a 5k, 3.1 miles carrying approximately SIX LITERS OF WATER! In developing countries women and children walk an average of 3 miles every day for water. This walk recognizes that water drives nearly every aspect of human activity: human health, support of economic and recreational activities and providing healthy habitats for fish, plants and wildlife.
We look forward to seeing you at Camp St. Croix!
