My Future
Kirsten Mella
My Brain Hemisphere
Left Brain Thinker
Although I am capable of using both the right and left side of my brain depending on the situation, I am most comfortable while using the left side of my brain. That means that I tend to be controlled, solitary, and realistic. Because I am a left brain thinker, I need to be more emotional, social, or people-oriented.
My Personality Type
#1 Green
My personality type is green. This means that I am intellectual, logical, rational, and a strategist. In group projects, I would take the role of analyzer. Analyzers identify problems and produce solutions, or initiate ideas on how to do a project. Since I am a green, I listen only to the necessary material and tune out the excess information, I would also miss body language and tone because I focus more on the words than the emotion. I communicate bluntly-- I go straight to the point with logical facts, but strategize on what to say and what not to. Small talk, failure, and being publicly wrong frustrate me because of my green personality type.
#2 Orange
My second personality type is orange. This means that I am also adventerous, impulsive, competitive, witty, and charming. In group projects, they would take the role of the creator. Creators are the ones who set the plan into action, or do most of the work. They would only listen if the information being laid out is interesting or eye catching, and they usually stop listening because they want to act out the information. I communicate briefly and straightforward, in a loud voice and fast pace. They usually interrupt whoever is speaking. The orange personality type is frustrated with formality, slow movement/pace, and steps to follow.
#3 Gold
My third personality type is gold. This means that I am also loyal, organized, realistic, and commited. In group projects, they would take the role of director. Directors are the leaders of the group, the ones who would direct how to do it and what everyone should do. Orange personality types focus on specific details, determining on whether the information being said is right or wrong, and do not like it when the speaker goes off topic. They would rather communicate through writing, since they can be straightforward and direct. Gold people also like to do it step by step. This personality type would be frustrated with rule breakers, lazy people, and wasting any kind of time.
#4 Blue
My last personality type is blue. I am also an emotional, loyal, trustworthy, and devoted person. In group projects, they take the role of supporter. Supporters are like the glue of the team, the people who would cheer the builders on or share their opinions to the group. Blues focus on more than just the words. They also focus on tone and body language, immediately turned off if the speaker is not sincere about the message being given. This personality type is very sincere and personal, always polite and mannerly but indirect. They are very frustrated with negativity, conflict, and rudeness.
Decision Making
Analytical style
When making decisions, I tend to make them deliberately and follow the analytical style. People with that decision making style are intellectual, imperonal with social orientation, and have to be able to predict the outcomes. Others could see my decision making as overcontrolling, impersonal, or sometimes too slow. The best organizational fit for my type of decision making is one that allows for planning or solving complexed problems, like science or engineering.
