Biography
Coco Chanel was born on August 19th, 1883 in Saumur, France. Her mother worked in the poorhouse where Coco was then born. Her mother died when she was 6 years old, her father abandoned her and her siblings. Her dad was a peddler. After her dad left her she was raised by nuns. She was taught many things while living with them. Coco Chanel’s name isn’t Coco, it’s Gabrielle. She adopted the name “Coco” as she worked in a cafe and sang in 1905-1908. She was a nurse for a little bit of time in WWll. She moved to Switzerland to escape the controversy.
As she was into fashion and started making/designing clothes she then had got more and more stores opened. Her clothes started becoming famous. She was very well known for her fashion.
Impact
Coco Chanel was known for being a fashion designer. She made and designed new things like clothes women could work in, undergarments, pullover tops, cardigans and sport jacket, etc. She started off making hats for men and women. She became known for them after that. Later on, she was known for her little black dress she made.
