Happenings on the Hilltop
The Glance - August 14, 2022
A BACK TO SCHOOL BLAST!
On Monday, August 15, we are welcoming our SLES families to our annual Tiger Tracks. The excitement and positive energy was real as we prepared all week to see our 190+ families, including 57 new students, to campus! All week, teachers from PK3 - 8 were busy preparing their classrooms in anticipation of seeing our students again.
In celebration of our 75th Anniversary, the Senior Admin Team and Parent Council have partnered to start the new school year with a Back to School Bash on the South Lawn. Parent Council led the effort and planned a day of fun for all before we are officially back in session.
In order to help with flow and attendance, we request that you attend Tiger Tracks according to the following schedule:
- All families with last name A - L: 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.
- All families with last name M - Z: 10:45 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
- Back to School Bash will take place from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, please report to the McNab Family Gym where you will collect your student information packets and schedules. You are then welcome to visit your student’s classrooms and meet their teachers. If you are a new family to St. Luke’s this year, don’t forget to arrive early for the New Family Breakfast, taking place on August 15th at 9:15 a.m. in Parish Hall.
To help manage event flow, families are encouraged to park in the south parking lot on Jones Maltsberger Road. Please enter the school through the DiRaddo entrance (it will be flanked with balloons) and enter the McNab Family Gym via the staircase closest to the Early Childhood Little Art Studio. If you have any questions about Tiger Tracks, please do not hesitate to reach out via email at stlukes@sles-sa.org or 210-826-0664. We look forward to seeing you on the Hilltop on Monday, August 15. Go Tigers!
TEACHERS, BOOKS, SUPPLIES! OH MY!
On August 8, we welcomed back our entire staff for a week of work, team-building, and professional development. With the addition of several new positions this year, we've just about filled every room on campus! We are celebrating our continued growth and we are praying for a happy year full of learning, laughter, and connection.

BUILDING MEMORIES BRICK BY BRICK
In celebration of 75 years, we invite you to purchase a brick and leave a lasting legacy at St. Luke's Episcopal School!
Legacy Bricks are the perfect gift for a birthday, holiday, or tribute to someone special. Your fully tax-deductible donation will pave the way for students while supporting the Capital Campaign - Connecting Tradition to Tomorrow.
TIGER TERRACE
At the end of the 21-22 school year, our students voted to name the new patio in front of our campus Tiger Terrace. Thanks to the generosity of our many benefactors who made this beautiful space a reality! Please stop by the patio to take a peek at our Legacy Bricks. Please consider ordering a brick and being a part of SLES history!
