Winsor Faculty Update
Late January Edition
Meeting With Dr. Paolucci
Math Games/Activities Meeting
Please join us at LaPerche on Thursday, January 23rd at 3:45 to discuss math games and activities. As resources can be difficult to come by, collaborating with peers and borrowing ideas and resources can be extraordinarily helpful. Please join us to discuss resources and opportunities. I've made a copy of Robin Cahill's resources to share with our team in advance of the meeting:

Wellness Event
On Wednesday, January 29th at 5:30pm there will be a Wellness Event at Smithfield High School. Come and sample delicious snacks, play some run Recess Rocks games, and spend an evening having some fun with our students, families, and staff. This is a great way to incorporate wellness into both your classroom and life. We hope to see you there.
Math Walkthroughs
Math walkthroughs will continue this trimester. I will be dropping by your classroom as a means of support and to provide an opportunity for discussion. We have made great progress and the results of Trimester One's walkthroughs have been positive. We want to keep the momentum going as we use intermediate checkpoints as a means to track our collective progress. Please see me with any questions or concerns.
Faculty Meeting- February 5th
Please be reminded that we have a faculty meeting on Wednesday, February 5th. While a full agenda will be coming in the coming days, our likely work will continue to be in the areas of RICAS preparation and in the Unit Unpacking protocol.
School Improvement Team
As we continue to make progress on our School Improvement Plan, please join us on Thursday, February 6th at 6:30pm to discuss our specific action items. The full plan can be reviewed below:

Postcards for Heart Association
Last week, students were asked to participate in a postcard competition for the American Heart Association. If any of the waivers and postcards came back, please send both to the office. We will have one grade level winner for the school. Please make sure all items are returned by Monday, January 27th and to remind students that the waiver must be signed, too. The winners will be announced at the Wellness Celebration, referenced above.
Responsive Classroom Update
Now that all of us have had RC training, we will continue to grow together while fully implementing the RC protocols. If you would like to visit a peer's classroom or meet with me to brainstorm ideas, please let me know. This universal school expectation will help our students continue to progress academically within a culture of empathy and understanding. As we return from an extended weekend and February recess is approaching, please see the below article to help get students back on track during these cold winter days.
