-A Bird's Eye View-
October 14, 2019
Your Tweetcher for the week of 10/7 was......Sandy Halbrook
Clinton Middle School Special Education teacher, Sandy Halbrook wanted to find a way to celebrate a book study her students were taking part in. BUT, she remembered that as a special education teacher, she shouldn't post pictures of her students, as this identifies them as a student with special services.
Instead, Sandy emailed info and we found a way to share this great news without using pictures of her students!
Your Tweetcher for the week of 10/14 is.....Donna Engeman
Kudos to Clinton Intermediate School teacher, Donna Engeman who is highlighting the engaging and fun activities her students take part in.
As students learn about states of matter, Mrs. Engeman has been providing them with hands-on activities to learn these important science concepts. Parents LOVE to see what their children are doing in class, because more than likely when asked at home what they learned at school today, students are telling their parents "nothing".
Remember, we can help tell our story and what our students are learning by sharing information with our stakeholders.
Monster Bowl Trivia Night
Form a team of 10 people and join Clinton Technical School on October 24th at 7:00pm for their annual Monster Bowl Trivia Night. How fun would it be if every building had a team? This event is always a ton of fun and benefits Clinton Technical School SkillsUSA students.

NEW APP
**********FROM THE BUSINESS OFFICE**********
Now that Absence Management has been live for a couple of weeks, I wanted to take some time to talk about features for employees.
When you enter in an absence, you will not have the ability to assign a sub for that absence. However, you do have the ability to mark who your favorite subs are by creating a "Preferred Sub List". Once you’ve created a Preferred Sub List, you have the ability to mark which subs are your favorite 5 so that the system notifies them earlier than those that are not marked as a favorite 5.
You create your Preferred Sub List under the Account menu found at the left of your home page. Please see step by step instructions at the end of the newsletter on how to create your Preferred Sub List.
As stated, the favorite 5 feature allows you to distinguish 5 of your most preferred subs. The benefit of marking a sub as one of your favorite 5 is that they will get notified via email about available jobs within 5 minutes of when you created the absence. Please see attachment at the end of the newsletter, "Managing Your Favorite Five Substitutes", to mark your favorite 5.
Do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions!
Have a great week!
Emily

*Tell us what you do in the CSD, how long you have been here and why you enjoy being a Cardinal.
I am a Speech-Language Pathologist at Clinton Intermediate School and have been with the district for 21 years. I absolutely love working with the students. They continue to help me learn, as well as make me want to be a better person.
*Tell us a little bit about your family/where you are from.
I grew up in Clinton and graduated from CHS in 1991. I left for 6 years to earn my masters degree in Communication Disorders. I have been married to Scott for 21 years. We have two children, Christian (15) and Jackson (19). Christian is a sophomore at CHS and plays soccer and runs track. Jackson is a sophomore at MSU in Springfield, MO.
Best vacation you've been on and why?
Destin, Florida
Ever since my husband and I took the boys when they were 4 and 9, they have wanted to go back every year. The boys learned how to make new friends, love eating fresh seafood, skim boarding, banana boating, catching jelly fish, swimming with dolphins, parasailing, etc. They have even held an alligator. It is our favorite place to spend our summer vacation together as a family and we have so many wonderful memories there.
What are 3 things people would be surprised to know about you?
I love to be "make-up free" (weekends are my favorite because of this)
I changed my major three times and still graduated on time
I had 5 wisdom teeth.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
A lawyer (and always a mother)
Name 3 things on your bucket list.
Travel to Europe
Take a trip with my mother
Take my future grandchildren on a trip
one proud mom!
CHS Special Education teacher, Dawna Bybee is proud of her daughter, Paige.
