Frontier Parent Newsletter

September-October News

Note from Miss Rutan:

Thank you for a great start to the school year. I'm often reminded through the actions of our community, students, and staff how amazing it is to be a part of Frontier. Our students are doing a wonderful job with their learning and behavior as we begin the school year. Fall is here and with that comes excitement.

As this year begins, it is important for me to acknowledge the difficult circumstances we are all facing as a school community. Families and the school are feeling the weight of the COVID-19 pandemic. I thank you, as a school community, for supporting your children and their school. We know it is difficult for all, and sometimes in different ways. I am here to help and support you through this. I am available for any questions or concerns you may have and although I can't always solve all the problems or frustrations, I want you to be able to share those with me and let me do what I can, within my control. If there are ways that I can help, or even if it is just to provide a listening ear, I am here. We continue to push forward at Frontier and it is amazing for me to see the learning taking place and the perseverance of our students and staff. I work in the best school community and I'm grateful every day.

If you have any questions, or concerns please contact me at or by phone at (208) 350-4190.

Important Information

Parking Lot Procedures

Thank you to all of our community that help make our parking lot safe and efficient for our students and families. We wanted to note a couple of reminders for our new families.

* Please remain in your vehicle during pick up and drop off. If your child needs assistance, please park and walk them to the sidewalk. This helps keep the line moving for all of our families.

*If a staff member is waving you ahead, please pull forward to allow more cars up to the front drop off and pick up area.

*Children enter at the front of the parking lot and not on the sides, this is for safety. We have numbered signs to help efficiently have students ready for when their parents' car pulls up.

Transportation Changes

It is very important that we are aware of any transportation changes that occur. If your child is being picked up, when they normally ride the bus or other changes to the normal method, please make sure your child's teacher and the front office is made aware. We also ask that you let us know before noon if there is a change to the schedule for that specific day. We need to hear of any changes from the parent/guardian. Students can sometimes get confused on changes, so unless we hear from a parent we use the primary method of transportation.

Our Fall Lockdown Drill will be held October 27th. This is a drill and students will be shown, in an age appropriate manner, what to do in the event of a lockdown at the school. If you have any questions, please give Miss Rutan a call at (208) 350-4190.

Waiting with Children before school

You are welcome to wait with your children before school. We ask that you wait on the south side of the building, near our play structures rather than behind the building by the classrooms.

Toys at School

One of our rules at school is for toys to stay at home. We have had issues with toys coming to school and getting broken, or causing disruptions at recess or in the classroom. Please help remind your children that toys from home are to remain at home during the school day. Thank you.
