Mt. Stuart Update
What to Expect on Wed. and At-Home days in the Hybrid Model
What a terrific three weeks it has been with students back at school in the Hybrid Model. Our new systems and processes are smoothing out and we are beginning to settle in to a long-awaited routine of in-person learning. Students, Families and Staff have done a phenomenal job in creating a positive and supportive atmosphere in which our students can learn and grow.
We have had lots of questions regarding what students should be doing on Wednesdays and on their other two "at-home" days, so I thought it might be helpful to put together this informational update.
On the three days per week that your child is learning from home while in a Hybrid model, you should expect the following.
- Your child will have assignments to complete in Schoology/Edgenuity. Please keep in mind that each grade level will have different expectations, and teachers within a grade level have the academic and professional freedom to assign what is deemed appropriate for their students and their learning cycles. So, not all teachers' or grade levels' assignments will be the same in either quantity or style. Individuality is celebrated and encouraged in order to engage students at their level.
- Your child's attendance on "at home" days is determined by their completion of activities, and time spent working, within Schoology/Edgenuity, therefore you will want to encourage your student to sign-in and engage in those activities each day they are working from home.
- Your child will be working independently on their assigned learning opportunities. Teachers are not required to Zoom with students on Wednesdays, but they may choose to do so based on teacher preference and discretion and based on student need.
If you have additional questions regarding what your child should be working on during their "at-home" days, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher.
Thank you for your continued support in our goal to meet the needs of all our Mt. Stuart Eagles and in showing support for our amazing staff!
Sincerely,
Kathi Keefer
