Lifelong Learning
Head of School Spring Newsletter - 2019
'The future belongs to those who prepare for it today!'
Whilst the dark nights appear to be lingering, I am glad to observe that the stars are still shining brightly. This notion has me reflecting on the festive events from the last term, namely Crawford's Nativity - it was amazing to see so many parents, carers, siblings and members of the family showing their support for the many little stars performing.
Looking ahead, this term brings about new learning themes but a continued focus on lifelong learning. We are currently reviewing the Crawford's Cogs and I am pleased to say that, having taken onboard feedback from parents, governors, staff and of course the children, we will soon be unveiling our research and a subsequent plan for implementation. Our Cogs underpin a values-based curriculum that we feel very passionately about. So...watch this space!
I am super excited to announce that our new website has been constructed and it is now live. I hope you will agree, it showcases the school in its most true and stimulating light. The website has been designed for 'the people', therefore, we have tried to provide a site that serves as a hub of information for the school. A new parent calendar and wellbeing section are areas that I feel are welcomed additions. I would also like to signpost you towards the 'Supporting Your Child at Home' section; this area explains how you can support your child with the fundamental aspects of reading, writing and maths. Each class also has a page dedicated to their term's theme/topic focus. Here, resources will be added so that you can see what tools and strategies we are using in the classroom. The 'Kids Zone' tab is an area which provides the most popular and engaging learning sites/ apps, so please encourage your child to also access the website.
I very much looking forward to working with you all again. The future is bright or as one man famously said: 'The future belongs to those who prepare for it today!'
