Counselor's Corner
Parent Night
Hello Wonderful parents of Rising 8th Graders:
On January 22 and 23, High School Counselors will be on campus to register your student for 9th grade. Mrs. Cavazos has been in classroom this week going over endorsements and the differences from middle school and high school. The 8th graders are also selecting Endorsements at this time as well, to help prepare for high school course selection.
8th grade parent night was in December and was held at Summer Creek HS. The information that was presented is attached to this email, if you would like a refresher.
We understand that this transition is a major one and counselors on both ends are working tirelessly to ensure that it is a smooth one. As in previous years, once your student selects their courses, a verification sheet will go home from SCHS counselors in late March/Early April. As presented in the PowerPoint, students and parents will have the opportunity to request changes to their schedule up until Feb. 28th with SCHS counselors.
Attached you will find the presentation from the 8th grade parent night and The High School Course Guide
If you have any questions about a particular course, please reach out to any SCHS counselor for clarification.
Thank you,
WCM Counselor Department.
