Best Plays of the Week

Week of January 10-16, 2016

Coach's Corner

I hope everyone had time over the weekend to process our staff meeting from Friday. What a heavy message! I know this will be much easier to bear with everyone chipping in! I will continue to meet with individuals this week. Please remember that if you have any questions about anything, we are all here and willing to answer any questions you may have. Of course as new information arrives, it will be relayed to everyone.

Just remember to keep this deadline in the back of your mind-make EVERY MINUTE count with instruction, with planning, with preparedness, with data analysis, with student behavior, and everything else! WE'VE GOT THIS--but it's going to take 100% every day from everyone!

If we are going to conquer the island, we must BURN THE BOATS!!

Students from the AECHS had a book drive and donated books to Best! Below is a picture with the students in Ms. Lomas' class with their books!

iReady Growth Monitoring

iReady has a built in component to measure growth. The window for reading begins today and lasts through the week. Please make sure you are rotating students through this program this week so their progress can be recorded. The window to assess growth in math begins Jan. 19th and lasts a week.

Boy's Club-Learning to tie a Windsor Tie!

Coach Gipson is leading a Boy's Club here at Best. He will be meeting with fourth grade boys to share his wisdom about being a young man. We are so happy he will be imparting his "skills" with our boys. The club will take place before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:40-8:10. The boys in the club will be receiving an ID badge that they will wear to and from the meetings. This will serve as their pass to enter class at 8:10. We are looking forward to great things from this club!

Lost Binder

Mr. Arellano has misplaced a blue binder that houses his grades, behavior tracking charts, and his parent conferences. If you happen to see it, please return it to him. Thank you!

This still BLOWS my mind!
