Are you ready to code? Join the global movement and get your school/district to participate in this year's Hour of Code - December 7-13, 2015.

In order to assist you with the planning and preparation, Susan Reeves, ESC-20 Educational Specialist and Affiliate Trainer, has prepared a simple action plan for you to follow. View the document and materials at:

Note: If you have trouble viewing or downloading the Google Doc, please let us know and we will resend in a different format.

Spring Author Visit (ES only)

Jennifer Smith posted this on TLC on behalf of Victoria Stapleton, Little, Brown and Company. Please send all replies to Victoria Stapleton.

As the Director of School & Library Marketing at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, one of my duties is to help authors explore school visit opportunities in various parts of the country. One of our authors has expressed a desire to spend time visiting schools in the San Antonio area next spring. The author is Geoff Rodkey, creator of THE TAPPER TWINS series aimed at 4th and 5th graders. Mr. Rodkey does a 30-minute presentation followed by Q&A on the craft of writing, particularly humor. The presentation honorarium is free, though book sales would be required.

If interested, please contact me directly ( and I’ll put you in touch with Geoff. And feel free to pass this offer along. Many thanks for taking the time to read this email.
