Principal's Page- Mr. Lopardo

It seems like just yesterday the weather was warm and we had just started school. As the leaves begin to turn and the weather becomes cooler, I want to thank the entire school community for welcoming me into the Citizens' Memorial Elementary School Community.

This month saw our students start strong with the support of our community, parents, teachers and staff. The Citizens' Character Counts program is proving to be a great addition to encouraging positive behavior and good choices. We had many purchases made at the Citizens' Cash Counter on it's opening day and our students enjoyed browsing the items and making purchases with their Citizens' Cash.

I want to thank all those parents who have attended the Citizens' Community Café on Friday mornings. In the month of September we focused on new programs taking place in our school and during the month of October we want our parents to have the opportunity to meet our district leaders who support our schools. This month we hope to gain a better understanding of how decisions are made and connect with those who can provide guidance and assistance to help our kids be successful in school. The Café has been a great success and is continually growing!

We are planning many community events for this year. In October we will be participating in the Trunk or Treat event with Governor Aram J. Pothier Elementary School. This event is sure to be fun and create great memories for our school communities. I look forward to seeing you there!

I encourage every family to become engaged in our school, whether it is volunteering to support a classroom, serving on the PTO, helping out in the school yard in the morning, or communicating with your child's teacher. Together we can create a great learning environment where our students can learn, grow and succeed!

Together we can make a difference in the lives of our students!
