Watch the video below as it references some of what a learning target can look like. The LT in the video is a great example of the how they will know they've demonstrated it portion. As you view the video, reflect on your own target practice:
- How do LT's support students diving deeper into learning?
- What are some of the ways teachers referencing the LT throughout the period support student learning?
- How does a LT guide CFUs and formative assessment measures?

Student Attendance: Please mark your attendance of who is present/absence shortly after each period begins. We monitor which students are here or who have dropped the first few weeks of school.
Long Advisory: Advisory is 1:35-3pm the first two (and a half) weeks of school. Enrichment begins Aug 19.
Activities Request Form: Is your club or action team planning an event? Is your grade level going on a field trip? Do you need to reserve space on campus for some reason? WASC: Seeking a WASC committee member! As part of our commitment to being WASC accredited, we also partake in giving back and volunteering with serving on a WASC committee at another school site. The visit includes being on another school site for 3-4 days and be part of the accreditation process for another school. Please see Lindsay or Taniia if you have questions or would like to go!

If you are a teacher new to the profession, need to complete your clear credential or new to the state you will need to consider teacher induction: please let Anzelc know ASAP! 2) If you would like to continue as support teacher to one of our teachers in the induction program or are interested in training to be one: please let Anzelc know ASAP!
19-20 folder: Heeeey Pirates! You need the 19-20 school-wide folder downloaded to "my drive." This is a frequently used folder and is viewable by the whole staff. There are 8 thousand awesome shared docs in there that are referenced often. If you need help on how to download a folder to "my drive" please ask me - I can help!
Lesson Plans: Lesson plans will continue this year, however they will be once weekly. There was too much good feedback on the benefits not too. Anzelc to share more soon.
PARENTS & FAMILIES:
- First Day Packet and Handbook: Your student received a first day packet Aug 1. It has important information and forms that need to be returned, while the handbook is for you to keep and review with your child. There is a signature form for the reading and understanding of the handbook. All forms and signed documents need to be returned to your child's Advisor.
- Back To School Night: BTSN is Aug 13 6:00-7:30pm. This evening is dedicated to you having an opportunity to meet all of your student's teachers, learn about what your child will learn this year and rotate through their schedule. Due to the evening rotation schedule, we encourage families to be timely with their arrival, so as to not miss one of your child's classes. Note: (1) There is also an optional parent Infinite Campus information session on using IC to view your student grades starting at 5:30pm in the cafeteria. (2) There is also a parent meeting for 6th grade families about Science Camp and it is located in the cafeteria 7:30-8:00, and (3) Washington D.C. parent meeting for 7th grade families interested in more information and confirmed 8th grade families with children who are going. - Infinite Campus Parent Information: Information has been added to the website to assist you in logging in to Infinite Campus to view your student's grades. This information will also be presented at the IC info session prior to BTSN, 5:30pm in the cafeteria. https://natomasunified.org/np3m/parents/infinite-campus-for-parents/.
- Enrichment: Students will bring enrichment forms home Aug 9. Please help your student select their course preferences by reviewing the options with them and sign the form accordingly. Forms are due Aug 12. Students who get their forms in on time will get one of their top 3 choices.
- NP3 MAP Transportation Update: Transportation has added a NP3 elementary stop at 7:15 am. The stop is for MS students attending MAP and are in need of transportation to the Del Paso Campus.
- Science Camp 6th Grade: The 6th grade team would like to invite you to our 6th Science Camp meeting 7:30-8pm on August 13th after Back to School Night. We will present info about this exciting and memorable trip and a representative from Alliance Redwoods will also give a presentation on some of the many experiences, challenges, and things your student will learn during this fun and interactive experience. We also need volunteers! Sign ups will be available at the meeting. We hope to see you there!
