What Are We Learning In Preschool?
We would appreciate your help in collecting tree parts to investigate. Collect things that have fallen such as leaves, bark, acorns, twigs, flowers, fruit, or cones. Enjoy this beautiful time of the year with your child and family!

Try This At Home!
Take a walk together and use your senses to explore nature. What do you see? Smell? Hear? Feel?
Why It’s Important?
Research shows the importance of connecting children to nature. Nature reduces stress and supports creativity, focus, and physical activity.
Not Ready Yet
Model using your senses to describe things while you walk together. Ask your child to join you in collecting a few things from nature, if appropriate, like leaves or small rocks.
Need a Challenge
Bring paper and pencils on your walk. Draw and journal about what you see. Share your discoveries with your friends and other family members.
Journal/Talk
Take your child on a neighborhood walk and talk about what your senses discover. What do you each see, hear, feel, and smell?

Extend the learning
