Kott's Korner
Hopefully everyone is enjoying the sunny fall days we have been having! It is great to see our students on the playground and outside for physical education. As the weather gets colder, please be sure your child is dressed appropriately. If you need support with this, please let us know.
Have you signed up for your conference yet? Although Parent-Teacher Conferences are designed for you to partner with the teacher, I am also a member of your child’s educational team. Please remember, I do value your input and partnership. Feel free to contact me with questions, comments, ideas, or concerns.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Truly,
Denise Kott

Halloween
Students can wear their costumes to school on October 29, they will not be able to change into them at school. Keep building guidelines in mind, costumes can NOT depict violence or violent acts; this includes fake blood, gore or imagery that would not be “G” rated. There is no make-up, costume masks or inflatables allowed this year due to the need of wearing a face covering & spacing issues.
This year, weather permitting, we will have a student parade outside that parents can attend. All parents must stay outside. Parade information will come home closer to the 29th.
Career and College Week October 25th- October 29th
HAS Schools will be having Career/College Week October 25th-29th. Students will participate in classroom activities regarding careers & college. We will have a spirit day on Wednesday, 10/27 for students to dress in career clothes (UPS, Kroger, Police, etc.) & then on Thursday, 10/28 will be college day.
Free/Reduced Lunch Applications
Leader in Me
The Leader in Me Section: Begin with the End in Mind
Beginning with the end in mind means having a plan. This includes having a clearly defined vision and purpose. One way to work on this habit is to set long term goals. By committing to a goal and monitoring your progress, you are working toward greatness. Be sure to ask your child about the learning and/or behavior goals they set at school. To learn more about Habit 2, see the links below. (Thank you for the ideas College Street Elementary!)
