Dear Parents:
I want to take a moment to thank you for all you do to support your children. In our current atmosphere, the connections and support you give will be even more critical to their success. The events last Spring and this Fall couldn’t be further from how we view a typical school year.
The end of Summer usually marks the time of year when excitement builds in anticipation of returning to school...yes, the PHYSICAL school! That will not be the case this year, but we are working to ensure we meet the ongoing challenges head-on, with a plan for success for each child!
I am sorry we are not able to open this school year under the same roof, but we are still together. We are together in learning and growing, in being there for our families and the kiddos you entrust to our care. Sometime in the not so distant future, we will come together under the same roof again. I will rejoice in that prospect, and the opportunity to connect face-to-face again. Until that time, be content in the knowledge that we are rising to the challenge...together.
Your Proud Principal,
Denise Bailey

DISTRICT NEWS
Robert Monroe, assistant superintendent for Teaching and Learning, has been named interim superintendent of Utica Community Schools as the Board of Education begins a search to succeed Dr. Christine Johns, who is retiring after 14 years of service to the community.
“As our assistant superintendent for Teaching and Learning, Mr. Monroe is well-prepared to engage both with our team and community,” Board President Dr. Robert A. Ross said. “Over the past decade, Dr. Johns has developed an outstanding and responsive leadership team. As the district moves forward, Mr. Monroe and our leadership will continue to seamlessly ensure that our tradition of educational excellence is maintained in the months ahead.”
