The Video Relapse Triggers by Drivethrutherapy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wECeOPZIt0U
From YouTube Post
List of 16 Substance Abuse Relapse Triggers presented and discussed. Covering Refusing Help, Expecting too much of others, Lying, Abusing other substances, Peer Pressure, Self Pity and Emotional distress.
In addition, Taking Recovery for granted, Reminiscing about using, Impatience, Glamorizing past usage, Going to high risk places, , Romancing about using and Seeking old acquaintances are covered.
Great importance is placed on the number 1 Relapse Trigger which is Boredom and its role in recovery. Suggestions are referenced in the video. Relapse prevention only works if some of these triggers are addressed by people attempting recovery.
These Triggers need to be addressed as they surface in Early Recovery because they can lead to using Thoughts followed by Craving's then Relapse. It becomes important for the person in recovery to learn how to identify which triggers apply to them so they can prevent them from triggering a relapse.
