Five people and five trials for the win
The five by five rule (Five samples and five trials with each sample) gives a good sample to measure the range for the error bars with.
"Oh error bar, what great range you have."
The error bar represents the range of data of the five trials for each person.
"My hat looks cool but it doesn't have a lot of range."
You graph the mean and the error bar represents the range
"This out-liar is kind of ruining our image."
- If the error bar is too high above the mean, that means that the sample is an outl-liar and most likely an untrustworthy piece of data.
