Charlie loves to collect rocks, butterfly wings, pressed flowers and old snake skins. Charlie is a young boy, his Mom's second child. He has brown hair, brown eyes and light colored skin. When his Papa told Charlie about slavery, he did not like it.
Many Adventures Along the Way
Charlie left his home in Massachusetts riding on a fast moving train. He met a girl on a steamboat. He heard loud chickens at a hotel. He stayed at a cabin near indians. He rode on a wagon pulled by oxen. And he finally arrived at his home in Kansas in the middle of a dry wheat field.
