Star360- End of Year Testing & State Testing
Teachers will be in and out of live Class Connects as they attend in-person testing. Please check your emails and CC schedule for days that your teacher will be out of the office over the next few weeks. We do our best to be in office as much as possible but are required to administer the in-person testing in our area. We appreciate your understanding!
Students will still have OLS assignments and Learning Path expectations daily.
Star Testing- this is an important time for learning coaches to be in the room with their student while they test. Although you cannot help them on the test, you can encourage them to read carefully, work out math problems, and try their best. Learning coaches can monitor their student and make sure they are paying attention and not rushing through the test. An adult in the room helps them to stay focused instead of just guessing and moving on to the next question.
State Testing- The Oklahoma State Testing window begins April 17th for students in 3rd - 8th grades. When students have in-person testing, they will still have OLS assignments they are responsible for completing.
It is very important that students try their best on these tests in order to show they are ready for 4th grade. Please discuss with your child prior to testing that it is important that they stay focused and try their best!
Please take some time to practice the review/test prep and complete the OSTP Practice Test below with your student.

Tips & Tricks for a Successful School Year at OVCA
- Class connect attendance is extremely important in addition to completing online coursework. Please prioritize attending class every day and email all teachers if you know you are going to be absent.
- Create a family schedule to stay on track with all students' class connects.
- Come to class prepared. Log in to class a few minutes early with your materials to be ready to start on time.
- All assignments require 80% mastery in order to be marked complete. Click here to watch a video showing how to retake an assessment. If you run out of attempts, contact your homeroom teacher.
- If assignments are not completed by the date they are due, students will receive a letter M in the gradebook. The M is calculated as a zero until the student completes the assignment. Once complete, the grade will automatically replace the M.
- Watch recordings of any missed class connects. Click here to see how to access recordings.
