Points of Pride

Instructional Focus:

Beware of "Stressful September!" In administration we are always told to watch out for the "sixty days of September."

September can be stressful for any number of reasons. The "honeymoon" is over for the kids, district and leadership add more things, the excitement/adrenaline of the beginning of the year has worn off, family obligations have ramped up, etc.

As stress increases, it's more important than ever to take care of yourself! Schedule time with family and friends, exercise, set boundaries for work, read a book (not a school one), do something for yourself, work on a hobby, or do nothing. While our job is incredibly important, don't forget to take time to laugh (we get some great material on a daily basis).

If you need a good story, go ask Jarred about the bird that he had in his class this week or Anne about the little girl that "sniffs brave." We have the best job in the world!

The better you take care of yourself, the better teacher/mom/sister/daughter/wife (sorry guys, we are wildly outnumbered, but feel free to insert male titles) you will be.
