Silver Creek Chronicle

Week of October 18th, 2021

From Mrs. Flemming

Although this week was a short one, we were able to pack in a ton of fun. From the success rallies to the fundraising celebration, Wednesday was one for the books. If you haven't already, please checkout all of the pictures on Facebook. We loved watching our Silver Creek Champs celebrate the end of the 9 weeks and all of their hard work. A big thank you to all of the families that came to support and even compete alongside their kiddos.

Thursday and Friday were spent testing the Math and Reading skills of our 1st and 2nd graders and they did great! 3rd and 4th grade interim assessments were postponed until the bugs can be worked out of our state testing software.

We were able to end our week with gorgeous fall weather and an Azle Hornet win on the field! Goodness those Hornets are playing their hearts out every Friday night and its always great to stack another W in the win column!

Next week we will have flu shots on campus Tuesday morning for those that are interested. Please make sure to send your form with your student if so. Parent conferences are wrapping up and we want to thank each of you for taking an active role in the education on your SC student.

We are also beginning to grow our Storybook Pumpkin Patch in the library over the next two weeks. CLICK HERE for more details and look for this same flyer to be sent home in Tuesday's folder.

As always if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out!

2nd Grade Music Program Information

The second graders have been working hard on their music program, Journey Into Outer Space. We are so excited to perform this for parents on Tuesday, October 26th at 6:00 p.m. This is the same night as Silver Creek’s Literacy Night, so come for the sessions and then students will line up in the music room at 5:40 to be ready for their performance.

We are asking student performers to wear a plain black shirt.

If your student has a speaking/singing/instrumental part that information is coming home separately with their part to practice. And if you cannot make it to watch the evening performance to see your child, we will be performing for the school on the 26th at 7:55 a.m.

Counselor's Corner

We had such a great time celebrating during our first Success Rally! We would like to give a huge shout out to the parents who participated in scooter races and hula hoop contests. You all did amazing when put on the spot! We calculated point totals and our Purple House, the House of Citizenship, continues to lead the pack with over 9,000 points. Our kids work hard every day to earn those tickets! Remember, they can save them to spend at our mini Fall Festival on November 12th, or at the store between November 20th-December 3rd. I can’t wait to see what they decide!

I hope you've had a great weekend!
