ATTENTION THOSE WHO APPLY FOR CE'S UNDER THE MASSW PARTNERSHIP:
Click here for the most updated CE Application (2014). Please remember to use it when making application for Continuing Education Credits provided by your region.
The application is universal for all social work CE applicants to use and directs the applicant to send to Robin Mingus at NASW. HOWEVER . . . MASSW, as a board member to the Michigan Collaborative, has a unique process and ALL MASSW APPLICATIONS AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS ARE SENT (preferably by e-mail) to Sue Welcome (suewelcome@yahoo.com or Sue Welcome, 4130 Orchard Way, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301) as the MASSW CE chair. Please stay alert through e-mail as occasionally I will be out of town and a CE Alternate will be identified to which you will send the application for a designated time period.
Please share this information with anyone in your region who may not sit on the MASSW Board (and therefore get this memo), but who may be completing the CE application in the Regional President’s stead.
Call if you have questions: 248-396-9161. Thanks for providing such great professional support for school social workers throughout the state!

2015 State Conference Sessions Filling Up Fast!
This year, we are allowing only on-line registration. This decision was made because it would take our volunteers about a half an hour to process each mail order
registration. You may still, however, mail-in your payment. Remember that all payments must be received by October 23, 2015 otherwise your registration will be cancelled. There will be no registrations at the door.
Here are some other hints to help your registration go smoother:
- If you are an MASSW member, please sign in first. You may not receive member rates unless you log-in first.
- Please make sure that you indicate meal choices and breakouts for the days that you plan on attending.
- For mail-in payments, please make sure you send in with the payment the e-mail invoice that you have received.
For conference registration questions, please contact Kathy Weaver at conference@masswmi.org.
Conference Announcements
- CORRECTION! The Radisson Lansing reservation phone # is incorrect as listed in the conference brochure. The correct phone # is 517-482-0188.

Registration Tips:
- Don't forget to sign in first to receive your member rates.

- To print out your choices from the e-mail that you receive, please remember to CUT & PASTE the link into your browser. It will not work if you click on it.
- If you get an error saying that the system can't find the registration. Log out, then log back in.
- If you make a mistake or miss a selection, simply log back in, click on register and you should be able to change your selections.
Use the hashtag #massw15
When you are at the conference, take photos of friends and interesting slides and share them as well.

Other News
- Time Study Tool: Steve Whitmore and about a dozen other school social workers have been working on a tool to track SSWs time. It is part of a much larger inter-disciplinary nationwide effort to improve practice and further the concept of Workload Assignments instead of Caseload Assignments. Additionally, Steve is running a Community of Practice with Michael S. Kelly from Loyola University. The dozen participants will be recording their time, analyzing their data, and communicating their findings with others (including administrators) to improve practice. It is exciting work!
