FALL FOOD DRIVE
We will be holding a Food Drive from Monday, November 15th through Friday, November 19th at Pleasant View for the food pantry at Faith Presbyterian Church in Franklin. Their food cupboard has been very busy during this pandemic. Faith Presbyterian feeds approximately 100 patrons each month and the need for assistance is clearly there. They’ve also increased the number of days the food pantry is open each month to help the community.
FHS SENIOR ABBY MARTIN RETURNS TO FOOD NETWORK
Many families may remember when former Pleasant View and Forest Park student Abby Martin competed on Food Network’s Kids Baking Championship Season 4 in 2018. If you missed Abby in Season 4, the series is still available to watch on Food Network or Hulu. Abby is currently a senior at Franklin High School, and is excited to announce that she has been invited back to Food Network!
This time Abby will be co-hosting a Kids Baking Championship Holiday Special with Duff Goldman. “Light Up the Holidays” will air on Sunday, November 21st at 7:00 pm CST. The holiday special will feature four fan-favorite kid bakers competing in a new challenge. Please share the news and tune in to Food Network next Sunday night to see Abby in her new role as co-host and judge!
MASK REMINDERS
As we continue to require masks for students, please remember the following:
It’s a good idea to wash your child’s mask frequently, ideally daily if possible.
Please ensure that your child has a few masks to rotate throughout the average school week
Please send an extra mask in your child’s backpack in the event they need another mask
When choosing masks for your child, please look for masks that have 2 or more layers of breathable fabric, cover their nose and mouth, fit snugly across the sides of their face, and don’t have gaps.
FRANKLIN PUBLIC SCHOOLS IS HIRING
We are hiring for Food Service Workers ($15/hour starting wage, full and part time), Kids Club Workers (working with students before and after school), and Bus Drivers ($20/hour starting wage, other bonuses, paid training through First Student in Muskego).

LOST & FOUND *NEW*
We now have a coat/storage rack outside of the main office where lost and found will be placed. Students should check this location if they are missing an item. Photos will be placed in the newsletter on November 29th and any unclaimed items for November will be donated on Friday, December 3rd.
DRESS FOR THE WEATHER
All students are required to go outside for recess daily unless the windchill is below zero or it is raining. When the temperature is below 50 degrees students are required to wear jackets/coats. Please make sure your student is dressed properly for the cold weather with hats, gloves, scarves, boots and snow pants. Snow pants and boots are required to be worn in order for students to play in the snow. Classrooms stay together as a group on a designated area of the playground - if your child's classroom is assigned a grassy area, this makes snow pants and boots essential.
PLEASANT VIEW SNOW BAGS AVAILABLE
Pleasant View has snow bags available for $8.00 each. To purchase with a credit or debit card, please log into your students PowerSchool account, where they are listed in the school store. You may also send exact cash or check payable to Franklin Public Schools to the school office. These are great bags to hold snow pants, mittens, hats, boots, & any other winter gear. It even has a spot for your student's name. See photos below:
ABSENCE REPORTING
It is essential to note that student absences are now reported using THIS FORM. The Absence Reporting Form is also located as a button on the Pleasant View webpage and under the “Parents Information” section. This form will require you to enter your child’s six-digit student ID number and birthdate before you can report your child absent. The Absence Reporting Form should be used to report ANY attendance change including late arrivals, early departures, and pre planned absences for both in-person and virtual students.
