Principal's Message for February 11th, 2016
Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,
I had the privilege of engaging with the staff and students as they celebrated the 100th day of school with 100 minutes of activities in the gym on Tuesday afternoon. After Friday's snow day, many emails flew back and forth among the teachers. Originally we had planned the celebration for Monday afternoon. Now, with the snow day, they wanted to know if we would still be able to celebrate. And, would we celebrate on Monday, which was now the 99th day of school, or wait until Tuesday? Then, there was an early release on Monday and a delay on Tuesday due to more snow. The teachers were not to be deterred, and so we figured out a way to fit the celebration into our shortened day on Tuesday. I wondered, "Why so much fuss?" It would have been so easy to cancel the event and move on. Once I entered the gym, I understood. As usual, the Warren teachers went above and beyond to make learning fun and meaningful for their students. Stations were set up around the gym, and children were encouraged to move about and participate in every station that interested them.
I was so impressed with the dedication of the teachers, and the high level of energy and engagement among the students. What a great way to celebrate 100 days of learning! To view more photos, click here, or check out the new Warren School Facebook page.

Message from Wamogo:
In order to advance world language studies in high school and to give our students a more rigorous language experience, we will be changing our current 7th grade exploratory format. Beginning in September 2016, seventh grade students will begin world language class upon entering Wamogo and will attend world language classes every other day for the entire year. They will continue to follow this pattern through the eighth grade, completing a whole year of foreign language before entering high school. Students will gain knowledge and experience in developmental guidance, study skills and the Agricultural Science Technology Education program on the days they are not in world language. This new format will create advanced opportunities for our students in world languages and other subject areas. Students currently in sixth grade will be asked to select their language during spring registration.
Students wishing to pursue Latin studies may continue to do so through online learning with Middlebury Interactive. Middlebury Interactive comes with an instructor that students can access for support. Just as with French and Spanish, students will be able to complete Latin I by the time they enter high school.
Minds in Motion
Region 12 will host their first Minds in Motion event on Saturday, February 27th. There will be fast-paced, hands-on workshops for students in grades K-8 and informative workshops for parents and educators. Adults can attend, free of charge.
