The Carleton Chronicle
A weekly update from Carleton Middle School
Greetings from Carleton!
As mentioned before, we have started testing our students on the MSTEP (Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress) and we want to inform you of our progress and ask for some help.
Most all of our 8th graders have taken the Social Studies portions (part 1 and 2) this past week. Many of our students found it easy. However, some said it was difficult to recall information that was delivered in previous years and to choose the most appropriate response(s).
Parents - I have informed our secretaries and teachers to not interrupt the testing process due to the level of focus we want our learners to demonstrate. (For example - calling classroom and doing overhead pages). If we can ask for your help too, it would be appreciated. Any drop off of medication, sports equipment, missing homework, lunch money, messages about riding or not riding the bus, etc. have potential to interrupt a very sacred time of the school year. Also, the message may not be delivered in a timely fashion due to my requests.
Please be as proactive as possible to avoid educational interruptions from now until the end of the testing window (May 24th). We appreciate your help!
Together in learning (and testing),
