Purpose of Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments
MCA exams are important measures to assess our students’ academic knowledge and proficiency.
These exams measure how our curriculum aligns with the Minnesota Academic Standards.
The results provide a snapshot of student learning success in school and aids in determining where additional support may be needed.
This information aids our faculty in guiding our instruction and supporting our students’ learning to their fullest potential.
Eastview 10th and 11th grade students will be able to use this testing experience as an opportunity to prepare for a similar testing environment and schedule for the ACT and PreACT exams scheduled for Tuesday, April 4.
Many occupations require certifications for job placement or advancement; MCA exams provide real-world assessment experience and practice to prepare learners for these occupational certifications.
Our 33 Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MinnState.edu) use MCA results for course placement. If students receive a college-ready score, they may not need to pay for and take a remedial, noncredit course for that subject area.
