Czechoslovakia history

Czechoslovakia was split into two countries called Czech Republic and Slovak Republic. They split into two countries because the government had difficulties with the economic system. Under the 1968 constitution, Czechoslovakia was a federal republic. Czech Republic and Slovak Republic had a war and that is how Czechoslovakia got split into two countries.

Why they came?

In Czechoslovakia they had zero percent of owning their own land so they came to America where there is more land.

Traditions they have in Czechoslovakia

In Czechoslovakia, Easter is a big thing for them. Czechoslovakian's paint these eggs and make them colourful so others would buy them.


Czechoslovakia's capital is Prague, and it is a very big city. In Czechoslovakia there is about 10.3 people living there. The people that live in Czechoslovakia speak Czech and some people speak English. The total area in Czechoslovakia is about 78,886 km2.


Czechoslovakian Strawberry cookies


1/2 lb butter, soften

1 cup sugar

2 large eggs

2 cups flour

1 cup walnuts, chopped

1/2 cup strawberry jam


  1. Grease an 8x8 pan

  2. Cream butter and sugar

  3. Add eggs and blend well

  4. Gradually add flour

  5. Spread evenly one half of butter mixture in bottom of pan

  6. Spread evenly with the jam & sprinkle with chopped nuts

  7. Spread the second half of the butter mixture on top of the jam

  8. Bake at 325°F for about 45 minutes or until brown

  9. Cut into bars when cool
  10. Enjoy your strawberry cookies
