2020-2021 District Calendar Updates
Plano ISD 2020-2021 Academic Calendar Approved
Plano ISD’s school calendar for 2020-2021 was approved at this week’s school board meeting. The calendar features two fewer days for students and teachers, which was done with Pillar 3 (Talent Acquisition, Support and Growth) of the Plano ISD Strategic Plan in mind, and aligns more closely with the number of days area districts attend school. The new calendar allows the district to offer a more competitive compensation plan by reducing the number of teacher workdays. The reduction in days comes with no change in salary or in the length of the workday. It is accomplished by starting instruction five minutes earlier at the early childhood, elementary and middle school levels. School hours for high and senior high schools remain unchanged. The calendar also allows the district to incorporate extended planning and professional learning throughout the school year, along with two professional learning trade days.
Bell schedules for all campuses are as follows:
· Early Childhood Schools: Beaty, Isaacs and Pearson

MICROSOFT TEAMS -- Please download and be ready to use!!!
What is it?
Communication and collaboration just got cooler with MS Teams! Plano ISD faculty and staff now have the ability to use Teams to communicate with each other. Don't worry, we are still using Outlook email. Teams allows you to plan and create with colleagues in a shared work space in which you can chat and share files. Use it as an instant messaging tool to chat quickly and easily (like texting) from any device. Make the most of its capabilities by installing it on your desktop computer, adding it to your Webdesk, and downloading it to your mobile device.
Staff Reminders
- Google absence/TEAMS on planned absences(Authorized School Business & Personal Days) – Those should be in the system as soon as they learn about it. Skaggs expectation is 4 days prior to absence.
- Classroom door windows: Tinting is coming soon for lockdown security. Door windows/blinds should be open at all times. If your blinds or windows are closed or covered, we want them open for visibility.
Safety Drill Reminders
If you are outside and need to come inside the building for a drill or safety reason, always come in the closest door and move to the nearest room with a door.
Be sure the grade level pod doors are locked and propped so that they can be closed in an emergency quickly.
Ask any questions you might have about any situation!
