From the Principal's Office
Dear James Sales Families,
What a great start to the year! We have completed our beginning-of-the-year testing and classroom routines and structures are coming together. Teachers and students are working hard on developing skills students will need to be successful.
Please remember to:
- Keep in contact with your child’s teacher
- Ask the teacher if you are unsure about something
- Check your child’s backpack daily as important information and homework may be found in there
- Help your child be on time to school. Students need 10-11 hours of sleep each night.
- Have your child at school every day, on time, all day!
We look forward to working with you this year. Thank you for your support as we all work together to ensure your child is successful.
Sincerely,
Brandy Nelson, Principal
It's Fall Book Fair Time!
The book fair hours are:
September 27 - October 1 - during library specialist times for students only
October 5 - Closes at 6 PM
October 6 and 7 - Closes at 3 PM
October 8 - Closes at 1 PM
Student Led Conference
Parents should have a conference appointment from your child’s teacher already. If you have not sent in your appointment slip to confirm your appointment, please do so as soon as possible or call the office - 253-298-4200. Remember, all students will be dismissed early at 11:55 each day of conferences. Sack lunches will be served and buses will run 3.5 hours earlier than a regular dismissal day. Please make arrangements ahead of time for any daycare needs
From the Health Room
The beginning of the school year has hit our Jaguars hard with different kinds of illnesses. Please remember to keep your child home if they, or anyone in the household is sick. If you child is sick, please keep them home until they are symptom free for 24 hours. Please notify the school of any known COVID exposure or positive COVID test.
Our kindergarten and 1st grade students still have accidents at times. Please make sure your child has an extra set of clothes in his/her backpack. Remind your child to ask to use the bathroom as soon as they need to go. “If you wait, it may be too late!”
Remind your child that thorough hand washing helps keep you healthy. Teach them to wet their hands, lather up with soap, rinse thoroughly, and dry them every time they use the bathroom, eat, or just get messy!
Fall Weather is Here!
We are enjoying our beautiful Fall weather which means that mornings can be cooler. Please take a moment to label outer-wear with a permanent marker in case it is misplaced. We do go outside on rainy days unless it is a real down-pour!

Reminders from the Office
- If you need to come into the building, please press the telephone button on your right as you look at the front door. This will enable the office to see you and to buzz you into the entry if needed.
- Please notify the office of any changes in the way your child will go home at the end of the day. We need this information before 2:45 so we have time to get a note to the teacher.
- Call the office if your child will be absent. If they have an appointment, please ask the doctor, dentist, counselor, etc. for a note for school. Offices that treat children are used to giving notes to students for excuses!
- If you need to take your child out of school before the end of the school day, please come before 2:45 so you won't be stuck in the end-of-the-day pick-up line! You will need to sign your child out and wait for them to come from their classroom, so allow plenty of time.
- If your phone number, email address, or home address changes, please let us know so we have the most up-to-date contact information for you. If they become ill, or otherwise need your help, we need a way to contact you! Thank you!
