Ms. Carter's Weekly Update!
December 6th-10th
Dear Parents,
This week in reading, we dived into drama! The students got into character and read two plays! We learned about the parts of a drama, reviewed story elements, and practiced reading with expression.
Our creativity filled the room in writing because the students came up with their own narrative! The students used their knowledge of story elements to write a story about one character helping another. Some students finished and you can see their final drafts in Seesaw - I am so proud! In grammar, we learned how to write dialogue and the students applied that to their writing.
In math, we started a new topic - Area! The students wrote their initial as a block letter on graphing paper and found the area of their initial (check it out below)! They demonstrated the area with a multiplication equation.
For 12 Days of Creativity, the students got to make collages representing their Holiday traditions, use a green screen, remix Carol of the Bells in Garage Band, and use Clips to share their perfect snow day!
Have a lovely weekend,
Ms. Carter
