LETTER FROM PTA PRESIDENT
Happy Spring!!!
I hope you all had a wonderful spring break! Hard to believe that we are here. I always feel like Spring Break is the signal to start all the craziness that comes with ending a school year. So buckle up, here it comes!
We’ve had a pretty good year considering there is no road map for our new normal. In February, celebrated Founder’s Day in person! What a great way to celebrate our PTA accomplishments with some cake and time together. We are definitely celebrating membership this year! We are currently over 22,000 members which is up significantly from 20/21 and approaching the amazing numbers of the previous school year. We are celebrating that we are 68 PTAs strong with 2 more schools opening next school year. More members to advocate for our FISD kids!
We have a jammed packed Spring with our Community Family Fair on April 2. It is a great event to spend time with the kids and check out some great vendors! On April 21, Council will once again host the PTA Night at the Frisco RoughRiders game. We will use this time to celebrate the Teachers of the Year for the past three school years! Please join us for the first pitch at 6:35 pm. At the end of April and beginning of May, Council will host the Reflections Art Show to highlight the amazing submissions of our students into Texas PTA’s Reflections program. Come see the talent that our students have for the fine arts.
May is going to bring more celebrations and training. May 5th will be the Summer Prep Orientation which is training for all current and new PTA leaders. Then on May 12th, we will celebrate those individuals who have gone above and beyond.
Whew! On top of all of that, we know that you have a busy spring on your local campus! Please let Council know if we can help in any way.
Please check out the upcoming spring programs listed in our newsletter. They are going to be great!
As always, I hope you and your family stay healthy and well!
Yours truly,
Terri Palmer
President, Frisco ISD Council of PTAs
